백정엽의 현재 연구 관심사는 무선 임베디드 네트웍 시스템에 있다.
특히,
architecture for tiered embedded networks,
reliable communication and data delivery in WSN systems,
and real world deployment of WSN applications
을 연구중이다.
센서네트웍, 모바일네트웍, 애드혹네트웍 등 여러 무선네트웍들을
시스템 관점에서 바라보고 있다.
(한국에선 WSN 보단 USN 이라는 약자를 더 많이 사용하는듯 하다)
